Founder
Magali Kivatinetz
Magali lives at Can Brull, and MK Pottery Studio is her life project. She built it around her ceramics practice and teaching, in collaboration with Bizen and with potters of many backgrounds from around the world.

Taiga Mori
Taiga Mori is a ceramicist and belongs to one of the six original families of the Bizen ceramic tradition. His knowledge, passed down through generations, spans anagama and noborigama kilns, as well as traditional and contemporary wood-firing practices. Beyond his technical experience, Taiga-san is an exceptional teacher: generous, approachable, and deeply committed to sharing knowledge and continuing the Bizen ceramic tradition.

Frank Richter
German ceramicist with deep wood-kiln experience. Frank shaped the technical side of the Kujiragama build. Centered on wood firing and high-temperature processes, his work explores the tension between control and surrender, developing a quiet, minimalist formal language.

Adele Williams
A studio potter based at Clay Collective in Hackney, London, with a background in fine art and a practice rooted in material exploration. Her work moves from digging and processing clay to ash-based glazes and firing experiments, always driven by a desire to understand how materials behave. Teaching since 2015, she builds strong foundations while encouraging an experimental, process-led approach.

Maria Roy
Maria Roy is a Catalan artist whose ceramics-based research follows local land narratives. Through site-specific collection, embodied encounters and high-temperature transformation, she makes sculptural work from soils and subsoils, bringing geological histories into relation with the communities, memories and forms of care that emerge above ground.

Eito Shinozaki
Part of the new generation of Bizen potters, Eito researches clay and ash effects in traditional anagama and noborigama firings. He is a regular contributor to Bizen's most recognized potters during large noborigama firings, often running the overnight shifts. As a potter he focuses on large-form throwing, and he is a fantastic instructor in that discipline.

Fumiyo Inai
A highly respected potter and wood-firing expert, Fumiyo assists many Bizen potters in their own firings. A tireless worker, she brings exacting discipline and deep knowledge of temperature ramps in traditional anagama and noborigama firings. She brings the same discipline to her throwing, which she loves to share in classes and workshops.

Wladimir Vivas
Director of Infocerámica and Woodfiring.net, with over thirty years in ceramics that began through wood firing. He has fired many kiln types, anagamas and noborigamas among them, and taken part in international wood-firing events worldwide. He lectures, teaches kiln-building courses, and has built or helped build numerous kilns. He runs two wood-fired kilns in Pelahustán, Toledo.

Can Brull is the new home of MK Pottery Studio: a masia in El Brull, Barcelona, inside the Montseny Natural Park.
Can Brull is not just a location. It is a growing project, where different spaces, practices, and parallel projects live together.
From here, MK Pottery Studio proposes a way of approaching ceramics through care, respect, and a bond with the natural surroundings.
That is why working with what the land itself offers is a fundamental part of the project: researching wild clays, developing our own natural glazes, and using wood from the surrounding forest as part of the ceramic process.
